Documenting what gets left behind

Buildings empty out slowly. A storefront closes, a factory floor goes quiet, a staircase stops being climbed. We return to these places again and again, photographing the details that outlast their original purpose and speaking with the people who remember them in use.

journovibezo.org is an independent documentary photography project. We spend weeks in a neighbourhood before photographing it, and we return once a story is published to share it with the people in it.
